With a dedicated staff and delectable menu, the longstanding Gemini Bistro became a cornerstone of Lincoln Park. For this project the 555 team worked to uphold the spirit of the beloved neighborhood restaurant while breathing new life into the original space, now to be known simply as Gemini.

The black and white exterior inspired the high contrast of creamy plaster walls meeting black stained millwork. wainscoting and custom cabinetry sit on existing hardwood flooring which was salvaged and lightened to its original beauty.
In the planning process, special focus was dedicated to designing a ceiling for seamless incorporation of acoustic treatments between exposed oak beams. Bar shelving is suspended on brushed nickel tube framing with internal illumination to highlight the new central location of the large island bar. The warm grey veining in the quartz bar top compliments the surrounding custom white oak butcher block table tops placed along fixed seating. Booths and banquettes were designed for efficient use of space where skewed angles resulted in unique arrangements. To open the room and reflect the new bar, large custom bronze mirrors are angled along the south wall over large bar-height u-booths.
Most importantly, to highlight the menu, a special service cabinet was designed to house a paper roll where the Chef personally scripts daily specials.
